The media has been given a look at the Japanese government pavilion for the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka. The two-story Japan Pavilion is the largest one on the expo site. It will serve as the host nation's base. The building's theme is “Between Lives.” The phrase refers to a cyclical loop of carbon recycling. Visitors will be able to see a facility that uses microbes to decompose garbage collected on the expo site. The plant will also produce biogas used for generating the pavilion's electricity. Many figures of the Hello Kitty character adorn the building's interior. Each is in a costume representing one of 32 different types of algae. This promotes the organism as a substance that can be used for fuel and help address food shortages around the world. The expo is scheduled to run for six months from April 13 through October 13.
