They all arrived, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends, who
hadn't seen dear Georg, of whom they had always been so
very fond, for such a long time．．．and who were so happy to
meet his lovely wife, and oh, how the children had
grown．．．! The big house became almost small, so crowded
it was.

彼らは全員到着しました．叔父さん、叔母さん、従弟妹、
友人、誰もが書いてよこした「親愛なるゲオルク様」とは
一度も面識のない人たちばかりです．だけどそのゲオルク
様をずっとこれまで大好きだった人たちばかりです．．．そ
してゲオルク様の愛らしい奥様にお会いできて、そして、
その子供たちが何と大きくなったことと言って、こよなく幸
せだという人たちでした！ さすがに大きなトラップ邸宅も、
これだけ人数が押し込まれて、小さくなりました．
