He was a good blacksmith and carpenter and woodcarver, and he
could improvise anything with bits of wood and metal. He
was forever inventing a new way of doing an old thing and
doing it better and quicker, but he never in his whole life had
any talent for making money.

彼は優れた鍛冶屋でもあり、大工でもあり、そして木彫り師
でもあった．少しの木材か金物があれば、何でも即興で作り
上げた．彼は古いものを使う方法を常に考案し続けた．それ

彼はその生涯の間、財を得る才には決して恵まれなかった．
