　 　　　　We're going to Kyoto today.

　 　　　　Places we're visiting are
　　　　　 Kiyomizu Temple, Ninja restaurant,
　 　　　　Nishijin weaving Center
　　　　 　and Kinkakuji Temple

　　　　 　みなさん、おはようございます。
　　　　 　ぐっすり、お休みになられたでしょうか？
　　　
　　　　 　きょうは、京都に行くのですよね。
　　　　 　立寄地は、清水寺、忍者レストラン、
　　　　 　西陣会館、そして、金閣寺となっています。


　　      While Kobe that we witnessed
          yesterday was a rather modern and
          new sophisticated urban area,
　　      Kyoto is an old town with
　　　　  its history dating back to 794 AD.

　　　　　昨日、現認した神戸は、
          モダンで、洗練された街
　　　　　だったのに比べ、京都は、
          その歴史を７９４年に遡る
　　　　　古都であります。　　　
　

　　　    The old capital was streamlined in Kyoto
　　      toward the end of the 8th century.　

　　　　　京都に都が整えられたのは、８世紀末、
　　
　　　　 　Look into the window at
           the building on your light.
           The tallest building over there.
           That's what we call
           Abeno-Harukasu Building.
           The highest in Japan as
           a skyscraper with the height of 300 m.

　　　　　右手、窓の向こう、
          のっぽビルが見えております。

　　　　　あべのハルカスと呼ばれるビルで、
          ３００ｍの高さを誇ります。　　　　

          When I explained that
          Abeno-Harukasu Building to my clients
          they retorted that we have
          a little bigger building than that
　　　　　back in the States　.
          The empire state with the size
          no bigger than ４４４ｍ.

　　　　　 先日、私、アメリカ人客を案内したんです。
           そのとき、あのあべのハルカス
　　　　　 をガイドしたところ、言い返されましてね。


　　　　　　「 私たち、アメリカに、
               もうちょっとだけ、
               大きなビルがありますよ。
　　　　　　 　たった４４４メートルにも満たない
               エンパイアーステートビルが。」



　　　　　【教訓】　相手を見て、自慢せよ。


Gota:　　 　　 Excuse me for interrupting my explanation
　　  　      but look at the castle
              on the left.it's Osaka Castle.

ゴタ：        説明の途中ですが、左手、大阪城になります。

　　          Oh, yes. you've already visited there.
　　          Who do you remember built the castle ?
　
　　　　　　  ああ、そうでした。もう、お城には、行かれて
　　　　　  　いるんですよね。
　　　　　  　築城は、誰が建てたのでしたっけ？
　
　　 　　　   Yes, Hideyoshi, the top samurai warrior did.
　　　　　　  はい、秀吉ですね。侍トップの秀吉でした。　　　


お客様x   ：  Was Hideyoshi shogun ?
　　　　  　　秀吉は、将軍だったのですか？


ゴタ　　　：　No, he was the government's
　　　　　　　chief minister.
　　　　　　　The difference is that shogun is
　　　　　　　a title the emperor gives to
　　　　　　　a top samurai whereas the government's
　　　　　　　chief minister was
　　　　　　　a ranking among those who
　　　　　　　served emperor as his subordinate.
　　　　　　　
　　　　　　　いいえ、秀吉は、太政大臣でした。
　　　　　　　違い目は、将軍というのは、
　　　　　　　天皇が、トップの武士に与える
　　　　　　　称号です。太政大臣は、
　　　　　　　天皇に仕えるトップの地位の人です。
