【ハンクラ】
クラッチを半分滑らせて、
タイヤにあまり回転力を
つけずに、ぬかるみなどを走行するテクニックを
ハンクラという・・・てか。いや、これは、
「京都ハンディクラフトセンター」
という、外国人観光客用のお土産屋さんである。

The abbreviation for it
is hankura in Japanese.
The homonym of this counterpart
is the hankura
(insufficient crutch-meet)
Anyway, this Kyoto Handicraft Center is a
good souvenir shop for foreign sightseers.

そして、帰ろうとして、目の前の大通りを渡ったら、
そこには、
「アンチーク」
のお店がありました。
アンチークとは、骨とう品店のこと。
Getting out of the hankura,
we happened to finf a
antique shop that deals
mainly with old European
furniture. Though
it's centering on the 19th European
style wooden furniture,
some are old Japanese things.
Our clients found 1920's dolls
and bought them on the spot.
That's good buy they made, I think.

店員さん ： Ｉｔ’ｓ made of china.
瀬戸物です。
中途半端に聞いていたゴタ、
いらぬ、言葉をさしはさんで赤っ恥。
ゴタ ： Made in China ？
No, I don't think so.
It's made in Japan．
中国製？
違いますやろ？
日本製でっせ。
店長 ： あの、この人は、英語ができるから、
通訳は、いりませんよ。

【教訓】
ええかげんに聞いていた話に割り込むな！
Don't interrupt not knowing deep thing.
★ china とは、陶磁器とか、瀬戸物とう意味。
ぼけーと聞いていると、
「中国」になってしまうが、
made of china
とくれば、陶器でできている、と
解釈する以外ない。
made in China なら、
中国製という意味になる。
ちなみに、japan とくれば、磁器である。
What is this made of ？
これは、何でできているの？
It's made of japan.
磁器ですよ。
メイド イン ジャパン と、
メイド オブ ジャパン は、
月とスッポンぐらい、意味が違う。

ところで、京都で、スッポン料理といえば、
「大市」でしょうな。
