ご主人　：　Who built this castle ?
　　　　　　誰が建てたの？


ゴタ　　：　The top samurai warrior,
　　　　 　 Hideyoshi, built it.
　　　　　　秀吉です。



ご主人　：　Shogun ?
　　　　　　（秀吉は）将軍だったのですか？


ゴタ　　：　Unfortunately, he died before
            he got entitled the Shogun.
　　　　　　残念ながら、将軍に任命される前に、
　　　　　　亡くなりました。

　　　　　　Oh、Look there stands Hideyoshi deep
　　　　　　in the center at the torii gate there.
　　　　　　あ、ほら、秀吉はんが、いますわ。
　　　　　　鳥居の中に、ほら。


奥様　　：　Is this a temple ?　
　　　　　　これはお寺ですかぁ？


ゴタ　　：　No, not that・・・　そうじゃなくて、・・
　　　　　　That's a Shito shrine.
　　　　　　We Japanese call it jinja.

奥様 　 ：　What's the religion
　　　　　　the Japanese people believe ?
　　　　 　日本人の宗教って、何？


ゴタ　　：　Originally　our religion was the Shinto.
　　　　　　In 538 AD a new religion was
　　　　　　introduced into Japan
　　　　　  from the Kudara now Korea.
　　　　　  That's what you called Buddhism.

　　 　　　 After that we have two gods.
　　　　　　Almost every house in Japan,
　　　　　　there are two gods.
　　　　　　The two gods are separated
　　　　　　into different places.

　　　　　　One is enshrined into the altar,
　　　　　　the other is put on the shelf
　　　　　　with sacred paper strips around it.

　　　　　　もともと日本人って、
　　　　　　神道やったんですけど。

　　　　　ごらん下さい。
　　　　　壁に穴がありますけど、どうしてでしょう？


奥様　：　Of course I can see.
　　　　　Halls are for an archery.
　　　　　わかるわよ。
　　　　　弓術のための穴よ。


ゴタ　：　（鉄砲なんだけど）
　　　　　Yes, halls were for weapons
　　　　　like missiles and firearms.
　　　　　そうです。飛び道具の穴です。

　　　　門をくぐったところ、お城で、一番大きな石。


ゴタ　：　This is the biggest
　　　　　stone of all in the castle.
　　　　　一番大きい石ですで。

ゴタ　：　The building was used as a
　　　　　headquarters of the old Japanese army
　　　　　during the previous war.
　　　　　I mean the Pacific War
　　　　　between America and Japan.
　　　　　ここは、太平洋戦争中、
　　　　　旧陸軍が司令部にしていた場所です。


　　みなさん、ゴタの説明を無視。

　　幼稚園の幼児たちが、天守の写生をしています。
　　芝生にちょこんと座って、
　　一生懸命に、画板に絵を描いています。


ゴタ　：　Let's go　and see them.
　　　　　行ってみましょう。


　丁寧に、石垣をひとつひとつ描いています。
　　　　　
　運んだ人のことを思うと、ひとつ、ひとつ
　心を込めて描いているこの子たちはえらい。

　と、見とれていると、お客様は、
　入場券販売機の方に、歩いています。
