修学旅行のバスガイドさんは、昔はそういう、
たわむれを言っていましたが、混雑解消の
ためか、そういうことは言わなくなりました。
石仏があちこちにあります。

さん ： Look ! Gota san . What are those ?
あら。ゴタはん、あれは何？
ゴタ ： In the beginning of modern times
about 100 years ago, all Buddha
images were thrown away.
Different from Shogun so far, Meiji new
government thought Buddha images
as superstition, something that made obstacle to make
Japan new modern society.
This Kiyomizu temple was kind and
sweet enough to gather them to this place.
１００年ほど前の近代化で、
廃物毀釈運動があって、捨てられたんです。
拾い集められてここにありますねん。
ケリー
さん ： Kannon Buddha, are these Kannon ?
ここの石仏、観音さんですやろか？
ゴタ ： No, not that I know of.
They are travelers' guardian deities.
ちゃう思いますわ。道祖神ですな。

清水寺から、京都ハンディクラフトセンターへ。
途中、平安神宮へ。 大鳥居をくぐります。
ゴタ ： We are passing through the Heian shrine torii gate,
the biggest in Japan.
平安神宮の鳥居をくぐります。
日本一でっかい鳥居やで。
ご主人 ： We saw the biggest torii at Meiji Shrine in Tokyo.
明治神宮でも、そんなことゆうとったぞ。
ゴタ ： That one, the material was used
with Taiwanese hinoki cypress.
That torii is not painted. It's a plain wood.
あれはね。台湾のヒノキですな。
白木の鳥居ですわ。

話をぼかして、ゴマ化して逃げる。
三流ガイドの手口。ただし、捕まったらご用。
