日本では七夕ね。私が住んでる場所ではまだ７月６日。
It's Tanabata in Japan. It's still July 6th where I live.
昨年の願い事は「日本語が上手になりますように」って。叶えたでしょ！私と私の妹は短冊に書いたから。＾ー＾
My Tanabata wish last year was "I wish my Japanese would get better." I guess it came true! My sister and I wrote on tanzaku. ^-^
今年は、「日本に行きますように」って短冊の願い事。日本は素晴らしい人いっぱいだからね！
This year, my wish is, "I wish to go to Japan." Because Japan is full of amazing people!
七夕の祭りに行きたいけど・・・アメリカではそれがない。ｗ
I want to go to a Tanabata festival... but we don't have them in America. Lol.
七夕には何してるの？
What are you doing this Tanabata?
学校や地域の集まりで、短冊にお願い事を書く程度です。
大きな商店街では、たくさんの飾りや笹で通りを華やかにして、セールをしたりします。
You don't see many people celebrate Tanabata personally.
Children at school or locol community write their wish on tanzaku, that's all.
Some big commercial abenues have a big sell with a lot of decolation.

Did you go to Nicotto town? Of course, for a true festival, there is not the cat. But if you have gone there, I think that you were able to feel an atmosphere. Then, fireworks match a festival of Japan well. I think that you can watch the genuine festival on YouTube.

Tanabata of this year was rainy. I was slightly disappointed. But there is the city to perform in lunar calendar. In that case, it is performed in August.
Well, like you know about it, people decorate bamboo branches with paper strips which a wish was written, and ornaments to celebrate, in the shopping district. A small shop opens a store then. It is a shop of play such as the scooping goldfish and a shop of the food. For us, it is a very pleasant festival.

今年の七夕は、雨でした。すこし、残念でした。しかし、太陰暦で行う都市もあります。その場合は､8月に行われます。
さて、あなたも知っているように、商店街に願いごとを書いた、短冊や飾り物を竹につけて、飾ります。それと、金魚すくいや食べ物のお店もあります。
わたし達にとって、とても楽しい、お祭りです。

北海道の七夕は、８月です。
北海道の七夕は、日本の他の地域とは少し違っていて、
子供は、夕方になると
近所の家を訪問して、お菓子をもらうんです！
ハロウィンと似ているでしょ☆
これは、「ローソク(candle)出せ」というイベントで、
昔、お祭りに使うローソクを集めるのが
子供の仕事だったことに由来しています。
I guess many children wish things on Tanabata paper, but not so many adults.
