My new PC!

My new PC was delivered this morning. It's a note type and color red!
My old one was broken after I'd been using it for five years. I wonder if I need to change PCs within 4-5 years again. My son said to me that five year is the longest!
I don't want to throw away things so easily....

Oh, I meant to say I want to use new words and phrases in sentences so that I'll never forget them.
Not to enrich my vocabularies....
BTW, I asked my university student to join SESS this coming Sunday, so she might show up at the cafe. :-)

It's interesting to increase our vocabularies little by little particularly through our actual use in communication.

I'll write them down in my notebook, and have a crack at using them to increse my vocabularies. :-)

You should give your good health the highest priority, though.
These days I spend plenty of time making detailed lists of related words and phrases so that I can use them when necessity arises.
I think it is advisable to memorize similar expressions in a single sitting.
Since they are related to each other, they will help us memorize different expressions in bulk.
ex. (1)The town is "crowded" with a great number of holidaymakers.⇒ alive/ bustling/ in great bustle/ lively/ thronged/ prosperous
(2) The town "attracts" a great number of holidaymakers.
(3) The town "is frequented by" a great number of holidaymakers.
(4) The town "flourishes/ prospers/ thrives" with a great number of holidaymakers.

Well, Carrie, it has taken me some time to grasp the meaning of what I've written myself at the end of my last message addressed to you: I just thought it's a pity that I just leave what I've learned as they are here.
I make a point of collecting a large number of example sentences and equivalent words and phrases to target ones which I'm supposed to teach in my adult students' class.
To tell you the truth, the number of those teaching materials is abundant and I thought I should take advantage of them for further effective teaching.
That's what I meant in the last sentence in my previous message.

Well, I confined myself to a library in our community to take notes of English words and phrases, usages and oral expressions to my adult students, because I've spent a huge amount of time to make preparations for each class at a community center.
I just thought it's a pity that I just leave what I've learned as they are here.

I use my computer mostly in the morning. while you seem to use it in the late evening.

My PC has been working all right, so I'd like to go on working with my reliable partner to the last minute of its longevity.
Truth to tell, I'm still using Windows XP, which they will stop giving service to.
That's exactly one of the reasons I've been thinking of buying a new one against my will.
Some people say they will continue their service for the XP even after the expiration of the limit, because there are still a huge number of people who use the XP.
I'd like to believe in their belief and give up my idea of getting rid of my familiar computer.

My new computer works nicely, but I still touch wrong keys or some other parts of my PC without knowing and I get wrong, unexpected screens! Those keys are too soft to touch...
